1. Holiday picks for PJ pros

My family has gotten matching pajamas for the holidays every year since I can remember. My mom always wraps them up and puts them under the tree with the rest of our gifts, and somewhere along the way it became a requirement to yell “Christmas pajamas!” in a very particular cadence when you found your box.

Now that our gift-opening festivities have expanded to include more family members (my fiancé, my younger sister’s boyfriend, and my older sister’s husband and four kids have since been initiated into the tradition), it’s so much fun seeing how my mom coordinates our PJs to fit different styles and sizes. Plus, seeing how excited my little nephews and niece get to match their auntie makes me want to wear Christmas pajamas every day (I’m only sort of kidding).

Growing up, my parents didn’t really do traditions. They thought that made our family spontaneous and fun—but I just felt envious of friends with annual turkey trots and birthday breakfasts. In other words, holiday pajamas were the stuff of dreams. This year, I’m finally making them happen.
